Translation MK Gilad Kariv with further details on the incident we reported last night, in which Yair Golan was whisked out of an event in Beersheba over fears of a threatening crowd gathering around him. Yesterday the Shin Bet chief decided not to provide security for him and for Eisenkot.

Translation We reported this evening – The Democrats' decision to support disqualifying the Balad chairman from running was preceded by a sharp debate within the party. MK Gilad Kariv, for example, expressed concern about damage to Arab support for The Democrats and to the incentive in Arab society to go out and vote.

Translation We reported this evening - during a discussion of the small cabinet before the fast began, Ben Gvir asked that the government announce it is applying the death penalty for terrorists to the terrorist who carried out the attack on the eve of Yom Kippur in which Netanel Shakron was murdered. This is the first terrorist from Judea and Samaria caught alive since the law was passed at the end of March. It should be noted that after the law was passed, a High Court petition was filed on the matter (a petition by MK Gilad Kariv and the Zulat Institute) and the issue is still pending.

This is Sodom: The investigation into Kahlon, an enemy of the State Attorney’s Office, ended with absolutely nothing, yet now it will also be dragged into disciplinary proceedings. Meanwhile, despite the promises, the investigation into Gilad Kariv was opened almost three years ago—and there is still no decision.

Translation I see since this morning that there are those who are happy and briefing that the upheaval in 'Degel HaTorah' may change the Haredi alliance with the right-wing bloc and with Netanyahu. So let's burst the balloon. The Haredim have no possibility, and no one to go with, in the left-wing bloc. In fact, Gafni has been making the empty declarations and threats about going with the left for years and in almost every election campaign. In 2015 he declared that "if Herzog manages to form a government - we will support him", later he said he doesn't rule out Gantz, and that United Torah Judaism's support for Netanyahu is not automatic, and recently he made clear that "unlike in the past" this time "I'm not answering in advance that I'm going with Netanyahu". Meanwhile, and ironically, he is indeed going, but not with Netanyahu... These stupid statements were, by the way, a catalyst for young Haredim abandoning United Torah Judaism and moving in numbers never seen before to alternatives like Likud and Otzma Yehudit. As for the draft law. It's true that Netanyahu dragged out the time at the beginning of the term, when he didn't bother to pass the law before the budget as he committed to in the coalition agreement, but it must be remembered that the ones who thwarted the law in the end were the Haredim. Even if they wanted to, the Haredim can't sit in a left-wing government. With whom exactly would they sit? With Mansour Abbas and Yair Golan? With Liberman and the wheelbarrow? With Gilad Kariv, the Reform and the LGBT? So it's true that when the left wants, there's a special trash bin for ideology and there's a blank white page, but now the page is already black and full. Black with hatred and full of insults and commitments. So you'll say right away, we've seen that commitments are not something that will stop them. To move Netanyahu they'll agree to anything - including everything. In principle true and more than that, but for the two main reasons I listed above there is no realistic feasibility for it. On the left's side - after October 7 and the poison campaign they ran, they are hamstrung on the draft law issue. They won't be able to give a better offer than the one that was on the table in recent months. (Which, as you'll recall, even that the Haredim torpedoed) And on the Haredi side - beyond the draft, there's no feasibility of sitting in a coalition of radical religion-haters, whose election promises are to destroy, desecrate and defile everything holy and dear. I hope MK Asher and the new representatives in the party will skip this tiresome nonsense this time, focus on positive and useful work and also internalize that the public they represent is overwhelmingly right-wing.
