Bezalel Smotrich (born 1980, Haspin, Golan Heights) is a lawyer and leader of the Religious Zionist Party (formerly National Union–Tkuma) since 2019. He has been Minister of Finance since December 2022, and also holds a minister's post in the Defense Ministry with authority over civilian affairs in the West Bank; earlier he was Minister of Transport (2019–2020). A settlement-movement activist who lives in Kedumim, he advocates annexation of the West Bank and opposes a Palestinian state. For 2026 his party runs jointly with Moshe Feiglin's Zehut.
Elected in 2015 on the Jewish Home list (Tkuma slot). Won the National Union–Tkuma leadership in January 2019 and ran within the Union of Right-Wing Parties and Yamina in 2019–2020. Led the renamed Religious Zionist Party in joint runs with Otzma Yehudit and Noam in 2021 and 2022. Resigned his Knesset seat under the Norwegian law in February 2023 while remaining a minister. In 2026 he heads a joint list with Zehut.
